Shiloh Rotherham has recently moved into their specially converted new home on Station Road and will host an open day inviting the public to come and take a tour of the new facilities.

People from across Rotherham are invited to visit the new building and get a flavour of the valuable support that Shiloh provides to local vulnerable residents who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

The official public opening, on Saturday, 22 July, will tie in with the 25th anniversary celebrations of the organisation.

John Donnell, General Manager for Shiloh said: “With the tremendous support of the Council, and its two main housing contractors; Fortem and Mears, together with support from a host of other businesses, churches, charities, and the general public, the old Weighbridge has been converted and renovated to become perfectly suited for Shiloh’s work with our homeless and vulnerable guests.

"This year Shiloh is celebrating its 25th year of supporting people in Rotherham who are going through a difficult period in their lives, so what better way to celebrate than moving into this superb new facility with potential for even further expansion over the years. Come and join us!”

Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr Dominic Beck, said; “This project is a perfect example of the Council and businesses working together to help a local organisation continue to provide much needed support in the community.

“It has been made possible by the innovative nature of the contracts that the Council has with both Mears and Fortem which ensures that part of the surplus made by the contractors is returned to the council for investment into initiatives to build a better community in Rotherham.

“We are delighted to have supported such a worthwhile cause which is providing vital assistance to some of our most vulnerable residents. This also demonstrates one of our strategic commitments; to ensure that no adult is left behind and is supported to reach their potential.”

Currently the charity provides over 20,000 meals a year and some additional support services. The newly refurbished facility will offer more opportunities for supporting with life skills and help more vulnerable people in Rotherham get back on their feet.

The open day takes place on Saturday, 22nd July, from 11am to 3pm at the new Shiloh premises: 15 Station Road, Rotherham S60 1HN. Refreshments are available.
