Thurcroft Urban Festival
Published Thursday 1st April 10
The Thurcroft Urban Festival promises to be a fun day out for all the family, beginning with an Ozzy Osborne lookalike who will meet, greet and be available for photographs.
Fairground rides and amusements, entertainment including sports activities, live bands and street dancing, plus plenty of refreshments make this ideal way to spend a Saturday.
The event is being staged at The Gordon Bennett Memorial Hall & Grounds, Green Arbour Road, Thurcroft from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, April 10.
The day offers the chance for young people from community engagement projects in Rother Valley West & South and Wentworth Valley Assemblies to showcase their work.
Some have been working with Plum Pie Media to produces an animated film on how they are viewed by adults. The DVD will be screened in the Memorial Hall all day. Others will perform solos and duets, dance routines and live music.
In addition, the organisers have invited a range of voluntary/community and statutory organisations to share information on young people's services.
The event has been funded through Safer Rotherham Partnership.
