Alice in Market Land

Families are encouraged to visit the market on Saturday April 3 to come and meet the Easter Bunny who will be walking around the market with Alice in Wonderland giving free chocolate eggs to children.

There will also be a free face painter on the indoor market and Whiston Brass Band will be performing on the outdoor covered market.   

With the new "Freebee" bus operating around the Town Centre the Markets has never been so accessible to Rotherham residents.

As part of the drive to improve footfall, Rotherham Borough Council are making a significant investment this year in boosting the town centre and markets events programme, as well as increasing the efforts to promote these events. By working with partners it is hoped that the town centre will not only host more events, but these will also have a more diverse appeal to all visitors.

Director of Planning and Regeneration Paul Woodcock said: "Easter Saturday at Rotherham Markets marks the start of our efforts this year. Through listening to the views of both businesses and shoppers we'll hopefully be rolling out a programme that will appeal to all and increase footfall for our traders."
