Children's Theatre returns to Rotherham
Published Friday 4th June 10
First class theatre for kids is making a welcome return to Rotherham Theatres with a show about a little bear with big dreams.
Whatever Next! tells the story of Baby Bear and his dreams of reaching the moon before bath time.
Despite his mother warning him not to, he packs a picnic, finds a rocket and, accompanied by a friendly owl he meets on the way, makes for the stars.
Using puppetry, movement, object animation, a bit of juggling and a lot of imagination, Whatever Next! explores the joy of imaginative play and the wonders of space.
The Tutti Frutti Theatre Company and York Theatre Royal bring this much-loved children's classic to life, accompanied by a specially composed, magical musical score.
Rotherham Theatres Manager, Mark Scott, said: "Theatre always mesmerises children in a way TV and film often fail to. The joy and magic of a production coming to life in front of their eyes is always wonderful to see.
"It's often shows like Whatever Next! that instill a life-long love of theatre in little ones and helps to boost their creativity. Plus, it's a great experience for parents to share with their children."
Suitable for children aged three upwards and their families, Whatever Next! will be taking to the stage of the Rotherham Arts Centre Studio Theatre on Saturday, June 26 at 12 noon and 2.30pm. Tickets are priced £6, concessions £5 and Two Ten Club members £4.
