Roll up, roll up at Mowbray Gardens Library

Published Wednesday 25th August 10

Mowbray Gardens Library will be “clowning around” and letting visitors try out exciting new activities, including circus skills.

The popular Herringthorpe Valley Road library, which recently celebrated its first birthday, is providing a day of activities on Tuesday 7 September as a way to try something new and an opportunity to come and see what the library has to offer.

From 9am - 2pm, there will be something special to try your hand at.

For those who have dreamed of learning how to juggle, spin a plate or have a go on a unicycle, then Swamp Circus will be on hand to make those dreams come true, by teaching basic circus skills.

Entertainment will also be provided by Elaine Macpherson of Dizzy Bees, who will be showing visitors how to "get crafty" with recycled materials.

There will also be the opportunity to join in an informal book chat session and a chance to try out a Wii Fit.

Event organiser, Rachel Wade said: "The library has only been open for a year, but has already become an essential resource in the community.

"The taster sessions are to give everyone an opportunity to enjoy what Rotherham Libraries have to offer. Why not come along, have a chat and see how fantastic Mowbray Gardens is?"

"All of the sessions are free of charge and refreshments will be available, for more information or to register your interest, please feel free to contact the library on 01709 370038, or the Reader Development Team on 01709 815123."
