MP presents Space Hop medals
Published Wednesday 15th September 10
A Rotherham MP will be joining forces with one of Doctor Who's arch-enemies tomorrow (Thursday) to present prizes to youngsters who 'hopped' their way through a summer reading programme.
At 5 pm on Thursday, September 16, Wentworth and Dearne MP John Healey - together with a life-size Dalek - will present 'Space Hop' medals to children who successfully completed the annual national reading scheme organised locally by the Rotherham Library Service.
A total of 135 youngsters who attend Wath Library will receive a medal and a certificate after reading all six nominated books in the scheme. The initiative aims to get children reading over the summer months and is based on a different theme each year.
For further information please contact Wath Library on 01709 873542.
