Children’s classic brought to life at Rotherham Theatres

Published Wednesday 29th September 10

Adults and children alike will be delighted to see one of the all time favourites, Pinocchio, performed at Rotherham Theatres on Saturday 2 October at 2.30pm.

Adapted from the classic Italian story by Collodi, the show follows the adventure of that likeable rascal Pinocchio. "Only good sons have a chance of becoming real boys" warns the cricket. But try as he might, Pinocchio the puppet cannot stay out of trouble.

Audiences will be led into a magical set that can be transformed into Geppetto's workshop, the wild wood, Toyland and even the inside of a shark!

The play captures the magic of the original story and is performed with hand-carved puppets and original music and songs.

Rotherham Theatres Manager, Mark Scott, said: "This is great choice for all the family. Everyone remembers learning about the story of Pinocchio, the wooden boy who longs to become real. It's a great experience for parents to share with their children.

"The show is ideal for a child's first visit to the theatre, and great fun for all of us who are a little bit older. Once children experience the magic of theatre, they will want to come back again and again."

Suitable for children aged 3 upwards and their families.

Pinocchio will be taking to the stage of the Rotherham Arts Centre Studio Theatre on Saturday October 2 at 2.30pm. Tickets are priced at £6, concessions £5.
