Car park closes to make way for "My Place"

Published Wednesday 29th September 10

Motorists in Rotherham are reminded that an Eastwood car park is to permanently close this Sunday to make way for a £3.46 million facility for young people.

The 39-space car park, adjacent to the Cat and Cabbage pub on St. Ann's Road, will close permanently this  Sunday, October 3, to allow for the start on site of the 'My Place' project led by the Chantry YMCA.

Regular users of this car park are advised that spaces are available on the York Road, Rawson Road and Cottenham Road car parks, which are all off neighbouring Fitzwilliam Road.

The iconic new 'My Place' facility is being funded by the Big Lottery Fund and is a partnership between various agencies, including the voluntary sector and Rotherham Borough Council, whose architects department has designed the building. Wildgoose Construction is due to start on site on October 5.
