Lee STEPS into role at Rotherham Theatres production of Snow White

Published Monday 25th October 10

Rotherham Theatres have announced Lee Latchford-Evans from hit pop band STEPS will be the new co-star of the spectacular pantomime Snow White.

As a member of STEPS, Lee sold over 25 million records worldwide, won numerous awards (including a Brit) and the band became one of the biggest touring acts the UK has ever seen.

Fans will remember smash hits such as "One for Sorrow", "Step 1", "Love's got a hold of my heart" and their cover version of the Bee Gee's hit "Tragedy".

Lee is best known for his massive success in the band, but other credits include five years working with the Royal Shakespeare Company, West End theatre roles and starring in independent British feature films.  Lee has also featured on our TV screens appearing in reality shows such as Channel 4's The Games.

Lee will be co-starring with West End favourite Darren Day as Prince Antonio.  Darren was due to star as the Prince throughout the pantomime run, however will be unable to perform on selected performances due to his role in the soap opera Hollyoaks.

Darren will make an appearance as Danny Houston in October and is due to make a shocking return to the soap in December.

Darren will perform the starring role on 18-19th December, 24th December - 2nd January and on the 9th January, with Lee playing the romantic lead for all other performances.

Theatres Manager Mark Scott said "It's fantastic that Lee will be joining us in Rotherham to co-star with Darren as Prince Antonio.

"The theatre staff and cast are looking forward to meeting him. I know there will be plenty of STEPS fans eager to get their hands on tickets to see him."

Accompanying Darren and Lee on stage for the pantomime will be Stephanie Dooley, who will be performing the title role of Snow White and, making a welcome return, Ben Nickless, who wowed the crowds as Wishee Washee in Aladdin.
