Published Monday 25th October 10

Rotherham Borough Council and its Key Choices Property Management service have been shortlisted for “Best Public Service/Not for Profit Organisation” in The National Landlord & Letting awards.

The Landlord & Letting Awards are the premier nationwide private rented sector awards in the UK.

Trophies will be presented by TV presenter, businessman and landlord Craig Phillips, winner of the first ever Big Brother series, at a glamorous awards ceremony in Birmingham on Wednesday November 17.

Key Choices Property Management Co-ordinator, Daniel Peck, said: "It's fantastic to be shortlisted for the awards and a testament to the professionalism, hard work and commitment of everyone at Key Choices Property Management.

"Companies from across the UK enter this competition. My fingers are now crossed that we bring home the award!"

Oliver Romain, head Awards judge and editor of Landlord & Buy to Let magazine, the leading magazine for the residential letting sector, said: "The response to this year's Awards was phenomenal and we received over 550 entries, so Key Choices Property Management has done brilliantly to get shortlisted.

"The private rented sector gets a tough time in the media, however, the vast majority of people have a positive experience and it's great that we have the opportunity to recognise and reward the best in the industry."

In addition to the work Key Choices Property Management carry out, Rotherham Council will be holding its first Rotherham Landlord and Property Investor Fair.

There will be a number of stalls and seminars that will provide useful advice and information, such as what will the changes to Local Housing Allowance mean to landlords within Rotherham, property standards and HMRC information.

There will be over 30 stalls providing useful information on everything relating to Private Rented Accommodation. If you are a landlord or thinking of becoming one, this event will be of great interest to you

The event takes place on Wednesday November 10 between 2pm - 7pm at the Whiston Manorial Barn.
