The legacy of music icon Marc Bolan and rock group T.Rex lives on at Rotherham Civic Theatre next month.
On Wednesday November 3, T.Rextasy will recreate the legendary rock band's sound - bringing the glam rock era back to life.
T.Rextasy are the official tribute band to Marc Bolan and T.Rex. This sensational show, which is part of their Electric Boogie Tour 2, thrills music fans with stunning renditions of classics like 'Get It On', 'Children Of The Revolution', 'Metal Guru', '20th Century Boy', 'Telegram Sam' and many more.
T.Rextasy leave no doubt as to why they were voted No.1 by the BBC's Battle of the Fantasy Bands and have the full backing of Bolan family and surviving members of T.Rex.
They are the only tribute band to be authorised by the controllers of Marc Bolan's music catalogue and were hailed by former T.Rex drummer Bill Legend as "the closest you will ever get to the real thing."
Marc Bolan formed T.Rex in 1967 and went on to create some of the most enduring rock anthems in music history, with his signature look coming to define the glam rock era.
Bolan died on September 16, 1977, when the mini driven by his partner Gloria Jones crashed into a tree near Barnes Bridge in London. His tragic death cemented his place as a cultural icon of the 20th Century and such is the continuing popularity of his music that today the crash site is a shrine to his memory and a place of pilgrimage for T.Rex fans.
T.Rextasy's Electric Boogie Tour 2 is a celebration of the music of one of the most influential bands in music history and a man who kick-started a revolution in the music world.
Headed by frontman Danielz, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Marc Bolan, the group have been together for 15 years, touring both nationally and internationally. They have played some of the world's top venues including Hyde Park, Wembley Arena and the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo.
