Gothic horror comes to the Arts Centre
Published Tuesday 2nd November 10
If gorgeously gothic tales are your thing, then The Dead Hand is the show for you.
Brought to Rotherham Arts Centre on Friday November 12 by Rumpus Theatre Company, this expertly crafted play David Gilbrook promises an evening of horror, lust and black magic.
The play is taken from the original book written by well-known author Wilkie Collins, who also penned such classics as Woman in White and The Moonstone.
The Dead Hand is a dark tale telling the story of young, easy going Arthur Holiday who visits Doncaster for the races.
Unfortunately all the hotels are full, all that is, except for one twin room that he'll have to share with a stranger.
After agreeing to take the room Arthur discovers his room-mate is recently deceased. Even then all might be well if it wasn't for the dead hand.
From classic comedy to the darkly gothic, Rumpus Theatre Company is known for presenting the very best of new, and established playwriting, highlighted by their sell out production of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Horrific Case of Mr Valdermar" last autumn.
Tickets for this show are priced at £9 (concessions £8) and they're selling fast. Don't miss out on an entertaining evening in the chillingly safe hands of Rumpus Theatre Company.
