Start your festive season the traditional way

Published Wednesday 17th November 10

Christmas is coming early to Herringthorpe Valley Park with a traditional event guaranteed to get everyone in the festive mood.

Taking place on Sunday November 28 from 12 noon - 2pm, the Friends of Herringthorpe Valley Park and Rotherham Council Green Spaces Officers will be presenting a day of Christmas carols, performed by the acclaimed Thurcroft Brass Band.

Mince pies and mulled wine will also be served to add to the festivities.

Green Spaces Officer, Donna Morton, said: "This will be the perfect start to Christmas. There's nothing better then a brass band belting out traditional festive tunes on a frosty winter afternoon with mulled wine in one hand and a mince pie in the other. The only way it could be nicer is if it snowed!

"Drop by any time, we'll make sure we keep a mince pie for you."
