Building work is well under way on Rotherham's new primary school and parents are being reminded that applications for places can now be made.

The new school, the Eastwood Village Primary School, which is being built by Rotherham Council on Eldon Road, will open in September.

Places will be available from September for children in Foundation Stage 2 through to Year 4, with 30 pupils per statutory year group.

Nursery places are also available and enquiries for those should be made via Coleridge Primary School until the new school is actually open.

Initially, Eastwood Village Primary School will share the existing catchment area of Coleridge Primary School. However, these arrangements will be reviewed in due course once the new school is established.

Any parents wishing to apply for a place at the school or wanting further information should telephone Rotherham Council's Admissions Team to request a Common Application Form.
