Saturday is your chance to be a record breaker and get absolutely covered in gunge - all for a good cause.
The attempt on the world record for the number of people taking part in a gunge fight is the launch event for Rotherham Children's Festival at Magna, which kicks into full gear later this month.
The event is being organised by Children's TV presenter and entertainer Dave Benson Phillips who is again acting as host and compere for the Festival and will be taking part in many of the events.
Anyone can come along to Magna for the gunge fight on Saturday (June 18), pay a minimum donation of £3, and take part, with around 1,000 people needed to break the record. All the money raised from the event will go to support the work of the Safe@Last charity.
People are asked to register from 10am with the gunge fight starting at noon. The event lasts for five minutes with as much gunge thrown as possible before everyone gets a hose down to clean off the gunge - so don't wear your Sunday best! Please note - the event will take place in the car park at Magna not inside the centre itself, so the cost of taking part does not include admission to the centre.
The Rotherham Children's Festival at Magna runs from June 27 to July 15 and follows on the success of last year's event which welcomed over 8,000 visitors to a range of activities and events involving children and young people from across the Borough.
