Blue badge fraud

Rotherham Borough Council has achieved further success in its battle against Blue Badge fraud.
Sajid Hussain of Hall Crescent, Rotherham, pleaded guilty by letter at Rotherham Magistrates Court on Wednesday, July 27, to using his son's disabled person's blue badge to park his vehicle in a designated disabled bay on Wellgate in March this year. His son was in school at the time.
Thirty seven years old Hussain was fined £115 and ordered to pay costs of £150 together with a £15 victim surcharge.
Rotherham Borough Council's Parking Services Manager, Martin Beard, said: "This is further evidence that we treat such crime very seriously. We will not tolerate such activities, which cause significant disadvantage to people with genuine needs."
