Rotherham’s Historical High Jinks

Published Friday 5th August 11

Kids from across Rotherham are being invited to have a six week holiday with a difference with a series of fun and creative adventures.

Rotherham's twice nominated Museum of the Year, Clifton Park Museum, will be housing the weekly craft and history sessions, which aim to give children aged four to ten a fascinating and creative insight into history.

On Wednesday August 10, there will be the opportunity to create a seaside themed mirror with "Seaside Reflections", followed by "Roman Fashion and Fare" on Wednesday August 17, which will give creative kids the opportunity to get a taste of Roman life.

These will be followed by "Holiday Scrapbooking" on Wednesday August 24, where children will be able to have fun creating a scrapbook of their summer holidays. Don't forget to bring your snaps!

Rounding off the fun will be "Step Back in Time" on Wednesday August 31, where there will be the chance to explore the history of the Museum and both dress up in Victorian costume and make your own historic accessories.

All the events will take place in the Museum Courtyard. The sessions will be running from 11am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3pm.

Booking advisable as places are limited, tickets go on sale one week before the event. £2 per child, which is non refundable. Card payments under £5 will incur an additional 50p charge per session.

Bookings can be made in person at the Museum or by card over the phone on 01709 336633.

All children should be accompanied by an adult.
