Avast ye land lubbers! Little Rotherham pirates are being invited to join in a fun treasure hunt around the beautiful Rosehill Park.
Shipshape kids are welcome to Rosehill Park in Rawmarsh on Wednesday August 24 between 1pm and 3pm, when the fourteen-hectare green space will become a tropical desert island full of pirate booty for the day.
Follow the treasure map and make your way around the park to search for clues to uncover the pirate treasure.
Captain Donna Morton of the good ship Green Spaces, said: "We're be casting anchor for another treasure hunting session with Rotherham's future pirate captains, yarrr.
"It be well known that pirates of old would drag ye treasure ashore then bring it overland to Rosehill Park and scurry it away from those that might seek to hornswaggle their booty. Well, me hearties, we're going to hornswaggle that booty in a fun day of treasure hunting and games.
"This be a family event and young buccaneers must be accompanied by an older salty seadog, such as ye parents. All kids be welcome, but it's especially perfect for young sailors aged six to eleven.
"Come dressed at buccaneers if ye likes, and meet us by the bandstand in the park to sign up. Yarrrr."
The event is free, but, booking in advance is essential. For more information and to book a place please call the Green Spaces Unit on 01709 822453.
