A Knight to Remember at Rotherham Theatres
Published Friday 23rd September 11
A medieval world of dirt, sweat, blood and lust is on offer at Rotherham Civic Theatre this October when Third Nail Theatre return to the Civic stage with Paul Webb's “Four Nights in Knaresborough”.
Part political thriller, part comedy Four Nights in Knaresborough has been described as historical drama for the Tarantino generation with all the sexual energy, personal traumas and quick humour of an epic lads' night out.
Little is known about the most famous assassins in British history. On Christmas Day 1170 four knights leave Henry II's household in Normandy and travel to Canterbury.
In the early evening of 29 December they murder the Archbishop, Thomas Becket - probably the worst career move in history. The knights head north, hole up in Knaresborough Castle and wait there in secret for a year.
The four crazy, licentious and powerful killers, abandoned and alone with only the four walls of Knaresborough Castle to protect them from the wrath of the nation, turn to tales of constipation, frustration, hunger, sword-polishing, even love, to while away the hours.
So if you prefer your history with a twist of Tarantino join Third nail Theatre at the Civic this October. You'll also witness the funniest scene of emergency medieval dentistry you'll see all year.
Four Knights in Knaresborough follows in the footsteps of past highly rated played presented by Third nail Theatre, including Frozen, Sold, Of Mice and Men, The Glee Club and Legless.
Four Nights in Knaresborough is being performed at Rotherham Civic Theatre on October 6, 7 and 8. For tickets contact the Box Office on 01709 823640 or book online.
Four Nights in Knaresborough contains strong language and adult content and is suitable for age 15 plus.
