West End comes to Rotherham

Published Wednesday 5th October 11

The magic of London’s West end comes to Rotherham this moth, in a show presented by some of the original cast members of today’s most popular shows.

From the opening chords of the overture the audience are whisked off on a whistle stop tour of wonderful music from the world of musical theatre and from then on they know they're in for a fantastic evening.

The music dissolves beautifully into their theme tune, "The Master of the House" and the cast take to the stage, resplendent in their evening dress finery and begin to take the audience on a vocal journey through the various stages of producing a West End Musical hit.

The show is constantly being updated with tunes carefully selected from over eight decades of popular musical theatre, including favourites such as Broadway Baby (Follies), Climb Ev'ry Mountain (The Sound of Music), Defying Gravity (Wicked) and Tell Me It's Not True (Blood Brothers) as well as some wonderful show medleys splendidly arranged by the Musical Director.

Performed by a superb cast, plucked straight from West End Shows such as Les Miserables, Evita, Phantom of the Opera, Spamalot and other hit musicals, are accompanied by an equally accomplished live band.

No 'Masters' show would be complete without a selection of numbers from the longest running West End shows and this version doesn't fail to keep up the tradition.

The Masters of the House are renowned for their superb vocals and entertaining presentation delivered with panache by some of the leading theatre artistes of today.

Indeed, performing in The Masters of the House has now become firmly established as a top option for the cream of West End singers between their theatrical roles.

Masters of the House will be performed at Rotherham Civic Theatre on Sunday October 30 at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £15.50 (concessions £14.50).
