Author Catherine Bailey comes to Rotherham

Catherine Bailey, the best-selling author of Black Diamonds, will be making a welcome return to Rotherham to talk about her new book.

Taking place on Wednesday November 7 at 7pm in Riverside House Library, Catherine be accompanied by local researcher and author, Martyn Johnson, and together they will be talking about Catherine's eagerly awaited new book "The Secret Rooms - A True Gothic Mystery" which will be published in the same week as the event.

The Secret Rooms, uncovers a plotting Duchess, a mysterious death and a castle full of lies, and promises to be as much of a success as her first work, "Black Diamonds".

Julie Hird Manager for Integrated Cultural Services said: "The last time we saw Catherine here in Rotherham was at our old Central library when she talked to an audience about her book Black Diamonds, and we are really very pleased to be able to welcome her to our lovely new space here at Riverside House as part of our commitment to offer a range of cultural activities in the town."

Catherine read History at Oxford University. She is a successful, award-winning television producer and director, making a range of critically acclaimed documentary films inspired by her interest in twentieth-century history.

Signed copies of "The Secret Rooms - A True Gothic Mystery" will be available to purchase at the event.

Tickets are available from the Library @ Riverside and from Philip Howard Books of Wickersley are priced at £2 which includes a cup of tea or coffee and must be purchased in advance as space is limited.
