Wonderful live West End songs!

Rotherham Civic Theatre is preparing for an evening of breathtaking singing and the wonderful atmosphere of the West End theatre in an award-winning show, 'Musicals in Motion' on Sunday, February 7 at
Imagine the scene, you've just sat down to watch Saturday Night at the Musicals on your TV, when suddenly the figures on screen continue their performance in your living room!
That's what happens with Musicals in Motion. It combines the best of modern technology with a Barnum & Bailey type flair for show business, bringing a unique experience of top West End musicals.
The overall effect is a magical experience with live and pre-recorded material working together seamlessly, being careful not to overshadow the exceptional talent of the two live performers - Jem Brent (42nd Street, Rent, Evita, Saturday Night Fever, Starlight Express, The Rocky Horror Show) & Rachel Slater (Singin' in The Rain, Copacabana, Starlight Express, Smokey Joes Café, The Rocky Horror Show).
Musicals in Motion boasts a huge cast including an award winning Male Voice Choir and, with a cast this size, there is only one way to include them all in this spectacular show - virtually!
Via a 24 sq metre rear-projection screen the virtual cast are projected directly onto the stage to interact with their LIVE West End stars. This produces a cast and CGI sets "virtually" larger than any other from any musical.
To make the show a reality, it takes state-of-the-art sound and lighting combined with CGI and "green screen" technology. With perfect timing, the LIVE performers interact seamlessly with their huge supporting cast - breaking down the barrier between what is "live" and what is "virtual".
Plus, fully choreographed dance routines and a range of dynamic CGI the audience experience a spectacular show, which would have previously only been possible by travelling to the West End or Broadway.
Tickets cost £12.50 (concessions £10.50). For more information and to book tickets call the Box Office on 01709 823640 or visit www.rotherham.gov.uk/graphics/Leisure/Theatres
