Residents and businesses can have their say on plans to improve Green Arbour Road

Consultation event - Towns and Villages Fund

Residents and businesses can have their say on plans to improve Green Arbour Road.

Following initial consultation with local residents and businesses, a concept design has now been produced.

The concept design focusses on improving the pedestrian experience, regulating parking issues and greening the area. The proposals include the provision of a defined footway along the front of the shopping area, the provision of planters with herbaceous planting, reduction in the number of bollards, the provision of additional bins and new seating. Additional tree planting is proposed to the frontage of the recreation ground site.

You can view the updated design on the Rotherham Council website.

Consultation events are taking place at Green Arbour Road (near the Mini Market) to provide an opportunity for residents and businesses to provide feedback.

  • Saturday 22nd April, 12noon to 2pm
  • Tuesday 25th April, 12noon to 2pm

Local residents are invited to come along.

As works to revitalise and improve Rotherham town centre progress, it is important that investment in local areas is also made. The Towns and Villages Fund is a multi-million pound commitment from Rotherham Council to deliver improvements to town and village centres across the borough.

Investment into the Green Arbour Road shopping parade supports the Thurcroft and Wickersley South Ward priorities around building a stronger, cohesive community and improving the local environment.

All feedback received during the consultation will be considered.

It is anticipated that work will start on-site in Autumn 2023.
