Spring Bank Holiday weekend opening times

The Spring Bank Holiday weekend is almost here. Visitors can explore Rotherham’s rich history or discover a perfect book at various museums and libraries around the borough.

To help you plan your visit, have a look at the Spring Bank Holiday opening times.


Clifton Park Museum and Boston Castle are open as normal on Bank Holiday Monday. Why not relive your childhood at the Childhood Memories toy exhibition in Clifton Park Museum and enjoy a bite to eat in the Granary café? The café will be open until 4.45pm on Monday 29 May. Meanwhile, visitors are welcome to come along to Boston Castle where they will see stunning images in the display of paintings by local artist Chris Bilton featuring picturesque scenes of Rotherham and South Yorkshire.

Libraries and Customer Service Centres

The Libraries and Customer Service Centres are open during Bank Holiday Saturday and Sunday. However, all Libraries and Customer Service Centres will be closed on Monday 29 May and will reopen at their usual times from Tuesday 30 May.

As usual, you can borrow eBooks, eMagazines and eAudioBooks 24 hours a day, seven days a week from Rotherham’s online Library.

Waste and Recycling

Also, for those doing a spring clean, your black bin, blue box and bag and green bins will be collected as normal on the Bank Holiday Monday, please recycle responsibly.
