Christmas activities in Rotherham Libraries

Rotherham residents can get into the festive spirit with lots of Christmas themed activities in Libraries.

Wickersley Library has a Penguin Pals craft activity on Tuesday 12th December at 3.30pm until 4.30pm. It’s suitable for children aged four to eleven-years-old. The cost is 50p per child. South Yorkshire’s “Chick lit with a twist” author, Sasha Lane, visits on Tuesday 19th December from 5.30pm to talk about her latest book! It’s suitable for adults only and is free to attend, please bring and share refreshments.

Rawmarsh Library and Customer Service Centre will host various activities in December. See a visit from Father Christmas on Saturday 16th December 10.30am to 11.30am. The cost is 50p per child. On Thursday 7th, 14th and 21st December it’s the mistletoe and mingle hour, drop in between 10am to 11am for a cup of tea and a mince pie and browse the craft and cookery books.

Wath Library have a Christmas extravaganza drop in for toddlers, with soft play, stalls and raffle prizes which takes place on Tuesday 12th December from 9.30am until dusk. For those more creative, come along to a family Christmas Craft session on Thursday 14th December, 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Booking is essential for all activities which aren’t drop in and a place must be booked in advance by contacting the library.

Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Cultural Services, Cllr Taiba Yasseen, said: “If you want to get into the festive spirit then we have a variety of seasonal activities for families, children and adults. We encourage everyone to join us at Rotherham Libraries for lots of fun and excitement in the run up to Christmas.”
