Published on Wednesday, 4th May 2016 in Commissioners news

Rotherham Council has appointed its new Strategic Director of Adult Care and Housing, the final appointment to the authority's new permanent senior management team.

The recruitment of Anne Marie Lubanski was made by an all-party panel of Members and the Lead Commissioner, supported by the Chief Executive, and will see her take up position as part of the leadership team in August.

The role will see Anne Marie spend time with frontline social care practitioners to ensure high quality customer focused practice, as well as driving the service strategy to deliver modern, personalised services that promote independence and make best use of the Council's resources.

She will also oversee the delivery of the authority's Housing Strategy; improving the quality and choice of Rotherham's housing offer to enable people to live in high quality accommodation which meets their needs - whether this is in the social rented, private rented or home ownership sector.

Anne Marie is currently Assistant Director, Social Care Operations at North Yorkshire County Council, where she has worked since 2008. She has over 30 years' experience, working in a variety of social care settings (children and adults), leading service delivery and significant transformational change in local authorities such as Bristol, Avon and the London Boroughs of Hillingdon and Hounslow.

Anne Marie said of her appointment:  "I am very much looking forward to joining Rotherham Council and working as part of the senior management team, it is a fantastic and exciting opportunity to deliver on the adult care transformation and on the Housing Strategy. I look forward to meeting everyone over the coming months."
