The Spring Bank Holiday weekend is almost here. Visitors can explore Rotherhamís rich history or discover a perfect book at various museums and libraries around the borough.

To help you plan your visit, have a look at the Spring Bank Holiday opening times.


Clifton Park Museum and Boston Castle are open as normal.

Relive your childhood at the Childhood Memories toy exhibition which is on display in the Childhood Gallery at Clifton Park Museum. The café will be open until 4.30pm on Monday 28 May.

Libraries and Customer Service Centres

The Libraries and Customer Service Centres are open during Bank Holiday Saturday and Sunday. However, all Libraries and Customer Service Centres will be closed on Monday 29 May and will reopen at their usual times from Tuesday 29 May.

The online Library is always open to loan eBooks, eMagazines and eAudioBooks.

Waste and Recycling

Also, for those doing a spring clean, your black bin, blue box and bag and green bins will be collected as normal on the Bank Holiday Monday, please recycle responsibly. Please ensure that only organic garden waste such as grass cuttings, weeds, dead heading and prunings are placed in the your green garden waste bins.

The Household Waste Recycling Centres and recycling points are also open during the Bank Holiday and the opening times can be viewed online:
