Eastwood riding into Rotherham

Published on Friday, 4th November 2016 in Eastwood news

Say hello to South Yorkshire Police's new chestnut gelding Eastwood!

He’s starting work with the Force after completing a six-week schooling stint. Each police horse is named after a district in South Yorkshire and the aptly named Eastwood takes his from an area of Rotherham.

The new recruit and his rider, PC Alison Akers, will be patrolling in Eastwood and getting to know the residents of Rotherham in the weeks ahead.
