About us
Our team of road safety officers is committed to making Rotherham's road users as informed as possible.
Education
Road Safety education begins at an early age and continues throughout life. The Council's team is one of many organisations, including the Department for Transport and RoSPA, who are all working to reduce the number of road traffic accidents.
The team offers services to all schools and colleges in the borough with resources aimed at supporting the National Curriculum where appropriate.
Training
The road safety team trains and supports the people who live and work in the local communities of Rotherham to deliver road safety training. The key areas for training are - child pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, health workers, parents, teachers and student teachers.
Publicity
National and local road safety issues are the subject of regular publicity campaigns. National campaigns such as these remind us of the dangers of drinking and driving or the need to wear seatbelts. Local Publicity campaigns reinforce the message and also focus on issues such as summer child pedestrian casualties.
