How do we decide what help we can give you?

Social care is not free for everyone. We have to balance the needs of adults in Rotherham with the limited amount of money we have.
We do this by giving help and support to the people who are most at risk.
We use guidance to decide who needs the most help, and what help and support we can give. The guidelines are called 'Fair Access to Care Services', which were made by the Government.

In the 'Fair Access to Care Services' guidelines there are four levels of risk. This is how they are explained

Very High Risk (Critical) There is an immediate risk of harm or neglect; or a danger to your life.

High Risk (Substantial) There is a significant risk that your health and wellbeing might be affected.

Medium Risk Your health or wellbeing might be affected, or you might lose your independence in the future.

Some Risk You find one or two things in your daily life are hard to manage.
