Personalisation

The Government asked people how they would like their health and social care services to be organised in the future. People said they want fast access to services, at a time and place to suit them and that these services should be personalised to their specific needs.

The Government produced a document called 'Putting People First' which introduced the idea of personalised social care services for adults. The main aim is to give you more choice and control in deciding the services which meet your needs.

The Department of Health are responsible for making sure that Personalisation is introduced in every council. By April 2011 all councils are expected to have made significant steps towards redesigning and reshaping the adult care and support services that you receive.
