How much will I have to pay for any care services I receive?
There are charges for some social care or support services which you may have to pay. The amount you have to pay will vary depending on the service and your income and savings. For some care services you may not have to pay anything towards the cost of the services which you receive. For care homes you will always have to contribute something towards
the cost of your care.
How does Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council decide how much I have to pay for the services I receive?
We need to look at your income and any savings you have to decide if you have to pay towards the cost of the services we provide.
To do this we will offer you a financial assessment. This will be completed by the Fairer Charging Team. The financial assessment is usually completed after your care package is started however, you can also choose to have this assessment before your services start. You do not have to have a financial assessment. If you choose not to have a financial assessment you will have to pay the full cost of the care services which you receive.
