Safeguarding Adults

  • People using our services are safe.

  • We extend help where needed to support those experiencing abuse and neglect in their own homes.

  • Communities can access safety measures and live safer lives.

Don't let abuse go unnoticed.  If you, or someone you know, is being abused, don't ignore it, REPORT IT!

The Council is committed to safeguarding and protecting all adults living in the borough by removing all forms of financial, emotional, physical or sexual abuse.
Safeguarding Adults is everyone's responsibility and mistreatment of any adult is not acceptable.  Remember, doing nothing is not an option - your actions can make a difference.
The agencies which form the Safeguarding Adults Board are working to ensure that adults in Rotherham are safeguarded and protected. We know that abuse of the financial, emotional, physical and sexual, neglect, psychological, discriminatory and institutional kind affects a lot of people, often over long periods of time. Anyone raising a concern that an adult is being abused or neglected will be taken seriously and we will act promptly and appropriately.
Our Safeguarding Adults policy confirms our commitment to make sure that:
