Council Tax
What is Council Tax?
Council tax is a local tax set by your local council, in this case Rotherham M.B.C, to help pay for the local services provided by the council. Most dwellings will be subject to the council tax.
Each property is given a band by the listing officer of the Valuation Office Agency, with the level of council tax payable being set according to the band in which the property is placed.
The council tax bill is made up of two elements 50% property and 50% personal. The personal element assumes that two or more adults live in the dwelling.
