Hi all

I wanted to draw your attention to the following information. you may want to advertise this to your staff as an opportunity to join this either as a team or maybe they want to encourage the family members to join. It’s a great way of keeping mind and body active and has a great fun element too.

Please feel free to advertise this across your own staff and your networks in Rotherham. If you need further information please contact Nadeem who’s email I have attached above.

Beat the Street Rotherham is set to take place from Wednesday 14th April for six weeks, concluding on Wednesday 26th May. Beat the Street is a free, interactive challenge that encourages people of all ages to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives by turning the area into a game.

Players form virtual teams, then walk, run, roll, scoot or cycle between the Beat Boxes scoring points with their fobs or cards as they go. The more Beat Boxes on the journey, the more points scored for community, workplace or school teams, with lots of prizes to be won.

This page has some more detail about it if you wanted to include anything more…

Here’s the website link, which includes a map showing where all the boxes will be placed.

The Beat the Street activity game is coming to Rotherham – Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council

Also, for any workplaces that get involved there may be an opportunity to do some further work with them after the game finishes to develop active travel plans, or other initiatives, linked to Beat the Street, in the workplace.

Kind regards
