The ‘Billy & Belinda  bollards’ are an innovative road safety project which complements other schemes such as the 20mph zones, all with the aim to improve the safety of our children around schools. The Dinnington Councillors, Jeanette Mallinder, Simon Tweed and John Vjestica, support the project and are meeting the cost out the Ward Budget.  The Laughton Junior & Infant school have been involved with the process and the children took part in a competition to design the appearance of the bollards with the winner, Ella Jarvis, receiving a framed certificate and £40 in book tokens . The runner up, Louie Jackson, also received a framed certificate and £20 in book tokens. We will now arrange for the bollards to be installed.

The photo shows the Councillors making the presentation, with teacher Anne Marie-Brammer standing in for the winner, Ella Jarvis.  Along with the runner up, Louie Jackson receiving his prize.
