Wherever possible, people should continue to avoid public transport and walk, cycle or drive, but I know for some of you this is not an option.

Locally, Travel South Yorkshire has been advising passengers to use face coverings for several weeks, but the Government's announcement means that will now become compulsory and anyone who is not wearing a face covering could be refused permission to travel.
