Local Safety and Specialist Support

Rotherham works with the Community Safety Partnership and South Yorkshire Police to keep people safe. If you have been a victim of crime or need specialist help, there are organisations that can support you:

  • Victim Support - practical and emotional help after crime.
  • Refuge - support for people experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Barnardo’s - services for children and young people.
  • Fearless / Crimestoppers - report crime anonymously.

Refugee and asylum support

  • Refugee Council - advice, drop‑in sessions and the Migrant Voice group in Rotherham. Visit the Refugee Council website.
  • Migrant Help - free advice and support with asylum claims. Call the helpline on 0808 8010 503 or Visit the Migrant Help website.
  • British Red Cross - family reunion support, emergency help and refugee services. Visit the Red Cross website.
  • Coram Children’s Legal Centre - free legal advice on asylum and children’s rights. Visit the Coram website.

Counselling, mentoring and youth projects

  • Young Roots - youth projects and mentoring for young refugees. Visit the Young Roots website.
