Test and Trace Support Payment

The Government’s Test and Trace Support Payment offers a lump sum payment of £500 to help people on low incomes who are unable to work while they are self-isolating because they have tested positive for coronavirus or been told to self-isolate by the NHS Test and Trace service.

The Council will be administering the Government scheme in-line with Government guidance.

COVID-19 Hardship Fund

The Government has announced the creation of a £500m Hardship Fund for local authorities to administer, providing support to “economically vulnerable people and households”.

The Government has now provided the Council with the guidance necessary for the Council to begin to administer a scheme.

Free School Meal funding during October half term holiday

The Council has agreed to fund free school meals for eligible children during the October 2020 half-term holiday.

If you have eligible children please wait to be contacted. Schools will be in touch directly to arrange distribution of supermarket food vouchers.

COVID-19 Winter Grant Scheme

The government has provided local authorities with funding to assist people experiencing financial difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The funding is available over the winter period on a first come first served basis and lasts until it has either been exhausted or until 31 March 2021 (whichever comes first).
