Council Services and Service Changes
National Lockdown - Stay at Home restrictions are currently in force. This page will be updated regularly with changes to Council services and amenities.
Parks and Green Spaces
Parks, playgrounds and play areas are open. Social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.
Sports courts, such as tennis and multi-use games areas and basketball courts, are closed.
Car parks, toilets and hand washing facilities remain open where possible with regular cleaning taking place.
Herringthorpe Athletics Stadium is closed.
Clifton Park Museum cafe, Rother Valley Country Park cafe and Thrybergh Country Park cafe are open for takeaways only.
Clifton Park Museum will remain closed. Clifton Park Museum toilets and the Walker Café retail will now be closed. Toilets can now be accessed in Clifton Park
Waleswood Camping site is closed. Boston Castle and Rotherham Civic Theatre will remain closed until spring 2021.
Rotherham Libraries
Rotherham Libraries are operating an Order and Collect service, with the exception of Kiveton Park and Mowbray Gardens, which currently remain closed for refurbishment.

Leisure Centres are closed.

Rotherham Markets
Rotherham Markets are open Monday – Saturday 8:30am-2pm for essential goods and food only.
The Thursday Bazaar Market will be open from 10am until 4pm for essential foods and goods only.
The Tuesday Street Market, Crafters and Outdoor Covered Retail and Second hand markets will not go ahead. Traders who sell essential goods and food at these markets will be allowed to use the indoor market.
Bin Collections and Recycling Centres
All bin collections are currently being completed on schedule. Household Waste Recycling Centres remain open.
Schools, Colleges and Early Years
Colleges as well as primary and secondary schools are closed for most students until February half-term. However, they will remain open for vulnerable children and the children of critical workers.
Early Years settings will remain open, including day nurseries, pre-schools, childminders, nursery schools and Foundation 1 classes in schools.

Weddings and civil partnerships cannot take place, unless in exceptional circumstances.

Cemeteries, Burial grounds and Crematoria
The eight Council-owned cemeteries remain open. These are: East Herringthorpe, Maltby, Moorgate, Haugh Road, Greasbrough, Greasbrough Lane, Masbrough, Wath and East Herringthorpe. The East Herringthorpe crematorium building is closed except for when funerals are taking place.

Help with Council Tax
Depending on your household's individual circumstances, you may be elegible for sources of support.
Council Tax Support (hardship fund): if you are a working age recipient of Local Council Tax Support payments you will receive additional Council Tax support of £200 which will be deducted from your current year (2020/21) Council Tax bill. This includes people who are newly eligible for Local Council Tax support.
