What you can do
Make sure that you choose an appropriate place to exercise your dog (ensure you are permitted to let your dog off the lead), see our dogs in parks section.
Keep your dog under control and within your sight so as not to cause alarm to other park users.
Don't allow your dog to roam into children's play areas or sports pitches.
Don't take your dog into a cemetery or crematorium (except registered blind persons or persons who rely on an assistance dog trained by Dogs for the Disabled, support dogs or Canine Partners for Independence ).
Take extra care when your dog is off the lead to ensure that it does not frighten or alarm people or other animals.
