Parenting Hub

Parenting can be rewarding, but everyone needs advice and support sometimes.

Our Parenting Hub offers a range of programmes for parents and carers of children aged 0 to 19. We also support young people up to 25 if they have additional needs.

All our programmes are based on international research and proven to work for children and families. There are different options to suit your family because we know one size doesn’t fit all. Small changes can make a big difference.

Togetherness

There’s a range of online resources available in Rotherham via Togetherness, working with Rotherham Family Hubs. If you’re an expectant parent, there are resources to help you along your journey to baby and beyond. Togetherness also offers specific courses on if your baby requires hospital care when they are born, plus what happens when they come home.

If you’re a parent, grandparent, carer or a young person, you can access ‘pathways’, with information from NHS clinical psychologists, practitioners and other families which will help you with your wellbeing in everyday life, as well as navigating the big moments.

Togetherness is an NHS emotional health team who are passionate about preventative mental health. On the Togetherness site, there’s also useful advice about anxiety, sleep, baby brain development, school transitions and more to help you during each worry or important life goal.

Antenatal

See antenatal course

For expectant parents, there’s a course on understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby.

This includes topics guiding you through getting to know your baby in the womb, your early stages of labour, birth, and then when your baby arrives.

There is also the same course but tailored specifically for women couples.

Postnatal

Togetherness also offers three key courses to support you in the months just after having your baby, too.

These include a course on understanding your baby, which explores understanding why your baby is crying, your baby’s rhythm and feeding right up to development and play.

Poorly babies

See course for poorly babies

There is also a specific pathway for parents or carers of babies age 0-6 months who are receiving neonatal care in hospital. This course can help you to understand exactly what has happened, your feelings in hospital and preparing for discharge back home.

See course for parents or carers of babies of the same age who have experienced neonatal care. This explores areas like staying in at home, understanding your baby’s brain, understanding your baby crying and how to respond plus understanding feeding and healthy sleep patterns.

Parents and Carers

If you’re a parent or a carer, you can access a specific Togetherness pathway which will support you with information about your child’s development, build your confidence and also offer helpful advice and ideas.

Grandparents

If you’re a grandparent, Togetherness also offers a pathway to help with understanding the needs of children and young people in the modern world. They can help you with behaviours to help your grandchildren thrive.

Teenagers

The teenage years are a time of complex emotions. There’s a pathway dedicated to teenagers on Togetherness too, helping them understand their minds, emotions and making sense of the changes they are going through. For this pathway, follow ‘for teenagers only’.
