COVID-19 Winter Grant Scheme

The government has provided local authorities with funding to assist people experiencing financial difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The funding is available over the winter period on a first come first served basis and lasts until it has either been exhausted or until 31 March 2021 (whichever comes first).

The funding is specific and is only available to Rotherham residents who are facing financial difficulty due to COVID-19.

In part the Winter Grant is available to those who are specifically experiencing fuel debt or fuel poverty because of Covid-19. Applicants may have seen a drop in their income due to furlough etc or their fuel bills may have increased significantly due to being at home for prolonged periods of time due to shielding/self-isolating/loss of employment. The fund will provide a payment of up to £80 to cover gas and electric or district heating, which will be directly credited to the applicant’s fuel account.
