A guide to the Sites and Policies document
The Sites and Policies document forms part of Rotherham’s Local Plan. It identifies development sites for new homes and employment development across the borough to meet the targets set out in the Core Strategy. It also includes detailed policies to guide decisions on planning applications.
The accompanying Policies Map identifies all proposed development sites, land uses and policy designations in the borough.
The Sites and Policies document was adopted by the Council on 27 June 2018. The following documents are available to download:

Appendix 1 of the Sites and Policies Document contained minor errors to the retail centre boundaries, at Rotherham (Map 8), Parkgate (Map 13) and Swinton (Map 15). The Council apologises for these errors, which have now been corrected. If you downloaded the Sites and Policies Document prior to 27 September 2018, you should replace it with the corrected version.
