Moving from Infant to Junior school

Moving from Infant to Junior School 2019

If your child was born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012 and attends Year 2 of a separate infant school, you now need to apply for a Junior School place for admission in September 2019.

You can apply online by clicking on the link below or you can telephone the Admissions Team to request a paper Common Application Form.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 15 January 2019.

Any application received after the closing date will be considered as a late application and you will be far less likely to secure a place at your preferred school if your application is late.

You should only use this process to apply for a separate junior school. We will not consider applications for primary or junior & infant schools at this stage. You should submit these after 1 May 2019 when we will start to accept in-year applications for September 2019 admission. If your child is in Year 2 at a separate infant school you are advised to apply for a junior school place in the meantime.

Please contact the Admissions Team on 01709 823777 for further information and advice if required. We are happy to talk through any queries you have.

If you do not live in Rotherham you should contact your local Admissions Team for further advice. This is because your local authority may have a different admissions process.

Further information can be found in Section 12 of the Admission to Primary School Booklet below.
