Flood Resilience Feasibility Study for Forge Island
Forge Island is in Rotherham town centre. The River Don and the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation bound the site.
The site has flooded before, the floods of June 2007 being the most notable event. Work has been done to protect the site against further flooding from exceptional rainfall.
The site is an important part of the Council's ability to manage flood risk in the wider area. It also has strong links to the future prosperity and economy of the town centre.
The study examines the flood risk management considerations for any development of the site. It looks at the flood risk management options for the site and the potential cost of these.
