The current position
At its meeting on 25 July 2018 the Council resolved to make a Reorganisation of Community Governance Order and implement the final recommendations for new community governance arrangements for Catcliffe, Orgreave and Waverley.
This means that there will be a new parish of Waverley with elections to the new Waverley Community Council in May 2019 and consequent reductions in the size of the current parishes of Catcliffe and Orgreave. The decision included a revised lower figure for the budget requirement for Waverley Community Council for 2019/20.
Full details are set out in the Notice and Order below.
There will be a public meeting about the new parish on Tuesday 5 February 2019, 7.00pm - 8.00pm at the Bessemer Conference Room, Advanced Manufacturing Park, Brunel Way, Catcliffe, Rotherham S60 5WG.
This has been organised by the Waverley Residents Association. Representatives from Rotherham Council and the Yorkshire Local Councils Association will be present to provide information about the new parish and Community Council development plus answer any questions residents may have.
If you have any questions about this meeting, please contact Janice Curran, Parish Liaison Officer.
