Managing sub-lets for buy-to-let leaseholders

Update for buy-to-let leaseholder leaseholders’ who need advice on managing their tenants.

Did you know that if you are a buy-to-let leaseholder you are responsible for your tenants’ actions? Having a good, comprehensive tenancy agreement is key to preventing enforcement action being taken against your lease. Under the terms of your lease should any lawful occupant breach its terms the Council could consider taking enforcement action which, if severe enough, could put your property at risk. We will soon be publishing updated rules and regulations for the better management of our blocks (in-line with the update to our tenancy agreements) which you might find helpful to call upon when drafting new tenancy agreements. We will inform all leaseholders when these are available.
