Pride in Place Phase Two: Maltby East

What is Pride in Place?

Pride in Place (PiP) is a UK‑wide initiative providing 10‑year investment. In December 2025, the Government announced an extension of the programme under Pride in Place Phase 2.

PiP Phase 2 builds on the existing Phase 1 by funding an additional 169 neighbourhoods across Great Britain, with Maltby East being one of these areas. Phase 2 will provide Maltby East with up to £20 million over a 10‑year period.

The programme aims to build strong, resilient and integrated communities with three overarching aims of the programme:

  • Stronger Communities
  • Thriving Places
  • Taking Back Control

How will it be managed?

As part of the funding requirements, a Neighbourhood Board is being established for Maltby East, bringing together people with strong ties to the local area. This ensures local residents are at the heart of shaping the area’s future.

Rotherham Council is the Accountable Body for the fund and will be working in partnership with the MP and once established, with the Neighbourhood Board to develop Rotherham’s response to Pride in Place Phase 2.
