Road improvements scheduled for Lime GrovePublished Friday, 10th March 2017
Rotherham Council is carrying out repairs and improvements across the borough as part of its £10 million 2020 Roads Programme, with Swinton residents the latest to see the benefits.
Work will begin to resurface sections of carriageway at Lime Grove from Monday 20 March. Motorists are being warned that delays may be possible during the works, which will involve periods of road closure.
The Council’s Head of Service for Highways, Colin Knight, said: “This is a busy estate road with traffic calming measures which people use to access a local primary school and a busy railway station.
“The road is heavily used and so it’s become necessary to carry out improvements to the carriageway, which will be taking place in phases. We have aimed to minimise disruption by carrying out the majority of road closures during school holidays, but apologise for any inconvenience caused.
“We have already been in touch with residents to let them know what is happening, but if anyone has any concerns or issues caused by the works our staff on site will be happy to try and resolve these. We’ll also keep everyone updated with regular updates on social media.”
The Council is investing £10 million in improving roads across the borough, as part of its 2020 Roads Programme. This includes targeted work to resurface many of Rotherham’s estate roads as well as a wider package of road maintenance.
Signs will be in place advising of the areas affected and dates ahead of the works at Lime Grove. For more information about planned roadworks see our webpages or follow the Council on Twitter to get latest updates on planned or emergency roadworks.
